4 FOOLISH HABITS TO LET GO OF

4 FOOLISH HABITS TO LET GO OF

We’ve decided to stop our monthly newsletter… April Fools! This month we're talking about all the foolish things that you SHOULD NOT buy into. From gimmicky marketing tactics to outdated strategies – #DontBeAFool, stick with Calypso.

#1 Treating Data like Bread Crusts

Data can help drive INFORMED decision-making. Even the simplest business decisions are easily solved by looking at what your customers are doing, wanting and buying. So, don't be slack - get your mailing lists up to date and make sure you engage with your customers on social media, through your website, in newsletters and everywhere they go.

#2 Chasing Likes like a Dog Chasing Cats

Is this 2023 or 2003? Page Likes don't mean a thing anymore - engagement is where it's at. Think about it: When was the last time you followed a brand or page because it had a lot of Likes? Mmm-hmmm, that's what we thought. You Like a page because you like the content they put out or the services or products they offer. It's that simple.

#3 Clinging to Dead Pages Like Flowers from an Ex

If you've got a page on a social media platform, your customers WILL find it. And if it's outdated and 'blegh', they will assume your business has gone under. So, either deactivate that old page or get an agency like Calypso to breathe new life into it. And while we're on that note - REMEMBER, you do NOT have to be active on every single social media platform.

#4 Overdoing Advertising Like Blue Eye Shadow

We live in a world where people actually pay money to NOT see advertising on platforms like YouTube. That should tell you how irritated consumers are with over-marketing and bad advertising. So, rather put your money into value-adding marketing like a solid and entertaining social media plan... or better yet, a strategically planned omnichannel approach.
