BUSTED: 4 Omnichannel Myths

BUSTED: 4 Omnichannel Myths

Omnichannel is the buzzword of the year, and we know it’s a LOT to wrap your head around!

In fact, a large part of adopting an omnichannel strategy is UN-learning many of the marketing trends and bad habits we’ve adopted over the last couple of years. So, let’s bust some myths so that we can start busting out a fresh omnichannel strategy for your brand.

MYTH #1: Mailers are just spam

Whenever we suggest mailers or newsletters as part of a bigger omnichannel strategy, we get that look – you know, the look that says, “don’t come here with your spam, babe.” But the fact is, when used as part of a bigger omnichannel strategy, newsletters are the #1 sales conversion tool. It's all about getting that message right and consistent across ALL your channels – and that’s our job!

MYTH #2: Use ALL the keywords

Actually, no doll. The key to a good keyword strategy often lies in the keywords you DON’T use – in other words, negative keywords. This allows you to exclude keywords that you DON'T want to show up (and pay) for. For instance, if you sell cars but you don’t sell Volvos, then you want to list “Volvo” as a negative keyword – so that your business doesn’t show up when someone is searching for a car you’re not selling.

MYTH #3: They’ll get bored of one message

Uh, nope – on the contrary! To land a strong omnichannel strategy, it is essential that you stick to ONE clear message across ALL your channels. From ad campaigns and social media pages to website and mailers - you name it! The numbers and statistics show that, by creating that one strong message that follows your customer around the web, the odds of them clicking and becoming a lead become that much higher.

MYTH #4: It’s about content, not visuals

Yes, a successful omnichannel strategy is all about quality CONTENT. But did you know that imagery is also considered content? In fact, pictures speak a thousand words, which means that they are almost more effective as part of an omnichannel strategy than words. So, do your brand a favour and get some beautifully shot photos of your product or service in action. Or talk to us and we can do it for you!

NO, SERIOUSLY – YOU NEED BETTER PICS

If you still don’t believe in the power of strong imagery, here’s what our content gal Charn has to say on the topic:

"As much as I LOVE words, they can only get you so far in telling your brand's story. Think about it: How often do you read a long post or mailer, if there are no pictures to hook you? As cliché as it sounds, a picture is truly worth a thousand words. That's why it is so important to keep creating fresh, beautifully imagery that supports your brand's message. It also helps us, as creatives, to tell your story in much more vibrant detail, so that we can do your beautiful brand justice."
