FACEBOOK MANAGEMENT vs FACEBOOK MARKETING
We often get questions from our clients about Facebook management and Facebook marketing.
So, we figured let’s do a little Frequently Asked Questions that answers all your burning Facebook FAQs in one go!
Q: “You manage my page –why aren’t you promoting my posts?”
A: Facebook management isn’t the same as Facebook marketing. Management involves designing quality posts to keep your page relevant, writing professional copy that reflects your brand’s tone, and answering questions from your followers. It does NOT automatically include Facebook advertising.
Q: “Okay, so why are beautifully designed posts so important?”
A: Your Facebook page is a representation of your brand. This is why it’s so important that A) the designs reflect your brand’s look and feel, and B) the post copy is professionally crafted to resonate with your audience. In essence, our job as page managers is to build your brand and grow relationship with your followers in the long term.
Q: “So, you don’t do Facebook marketing at all?”
A:Of course we do! But we’re going to be honest with you about whether or not your budget is big enough to warrant boosting your page or posts. Because we’re not here to take your money –we’re here to make your brand look as awesome as it is!
Q: “Well, I really want you to boost my page and posts –here’s R500.”
A: Sure, we can use that money to boost a post or your page, but we can guarantee that it won’t lead to any tangible results. (See? This is where the honesty comes in.) If you’re lucky you might pick up a few extra followers, but they won’t be the paying customers and long-term clients you’re after. Trust us when we say: You’d be better off using that money to buy ice creams for your team.
Q: “If I pay you to boost my posts, where does the money go?”
A: First of all, you don’t pay us that money –it goes straight to Facebook. Bear in mind that Facebook now also charges VAT, so that will cut into your budget even further. At the end of the day, we take a VERY small percentage for our time, but the bulk goes to the big shots at Facebook and the other social media platforms.
Q: “Why am I not getting any sales via my Facebook page?”
A: Unless you’re a BIG brand that can afford to pour thousands of Rands into your Facebook advertising, the odds of your page bringing in sales is VERY small. Social media isn’t a sales tool but a branding vehicle that evolves your brand and grows brand recognition.
